This piece is about the symbolic world of disguises and the roles they play in our lives. We all wear masks at different times, each revealing facets of our concealed identities. For me, the  emotional camouflage became a means of concealment of true emotions. It is an original painting created with beeswax, oil paints, and damar resin on a cradled board. Embellished with burned silk, pigment sticks, and pan pastels eliciting expressive ambiguity, where the ambiguity of the masks interprets the narratives behind each mask.

To say that Trudie's encaustic pieces inspire is an understatement. For me, her work stirs emotion, curiosity and a deep dive into "how does this speak to me?" I believe her art is powerful and never fails to open inner doors.
